Principal's Welcome Message
Welcome to Tallwood Elementary School's Web Page. We are very excited about your spending time with us on the Internet. At Tallwood Elementary, our mission is to "provide an inviting and safe place where all people can achieve to their full potential". We believe that every child can learn when he/she is exposed to an environment that fosters positive self-esteem and leadership, promotes creativity, and provides for individual styles of learning.Tallwood has the privilege of being affiliated with several strong support groups. Our PTA and Partners in Education are extremely active and productively involved in various activities around the school. We recognize the importance of effectively incorporating parents, staff, students, and the surrounding community in developing the School's Continuous Improvement Plan.
Our school incorporates over 600 students of diverse backgrounds. We serve students in pre-school through the fifth grade. The school provides before and after school programs staffed through the services of Parks and Recreation. There are also various other after school programs staffed by volunteers and school personnel. The programs range from after school tutoring programs to various clubs providing enrichment activities in art and literature.
Once again, welcome to Tallwood Elementary. Our students, parents, and staff have exceptionally high expectations. Please take the opportunity to visit and observe how hard everyone works as a team to achieve these goals.
