Support

The library accepts donations of gently used books. Donated books are examined and distributed throughout the school. Any books we are unable to use are donated to the nearby CHKD Thrift Store. In addition, the librarian maintains a Want List if you are interested in making a purchase for the library.

Students Borrowing Books

Students may take home books from the Fiction, Nonfiction, Biography, and Audio book Neighborhoods. They are welcome to use books from the Reference Neighborhood in the library.

K – may check out one book each week during story time. Must return that book before they may check out another.
1st – may check out one book per visit. Once they have two books checked out, they must return at least one book before they may check out another.
2nd - 4th – two books per visit. Must return at least one book before they may check out another.
5th – three items* per visit. Must return at least one item before they may check out another.

*5th graders have access to Digital Audio book sets called "Playaway." These are designed to be "read-alongs" in order to improve fluency and expressiveness during independent reading. It may also assist students who read below grade level to improve their vocabulary and word recognition. An audio book set counts as two "items."

Parents Borrowing Books

Parents are welcome to borrow up to 3 items at a time from any neighborhood in our LMC (except the Reference Neighborhood). It only takes a moment for us to create your account while you select the books you want to take home. For added convenience, your child may return your books for you, however; for your security, children are not allowed to check books out on their parents' accounts.
